2016/10/06 The best way to develop your philosophy

This is not about philosophy as a self-help. This is about philosophy as an academic discipline.

A teacher told me one day that it is the best and shortest way to develop my philosophy to read almost all the works of one particular philosopher and imitate their style of thinking and writing. Without it, it would be long before I blossom as a philosopher.

Having heard this, I began to wonder who would be the philosopher for me? The tentative answer is Ian Hacking because what he has done in The Taming of Chance seems like what I want to do, the history of a concept. But of course before making up my mind, I have to consult my supervisor.
