When reading a book, you should read it as a refined logical construct, especially the book is one written by a European scholar. But, look, this resume of yours contains nothing about the logical relationships of the chapters. Now that you are a graduate student, it is required that you not look over the superficial meaning of the text. You have to interpret it and give it significance with respect to in terms of broader context.

This is what I was told today by a teacher.
