2017/01/17 On offering information

I am going to use "offer information" as the equivalent of the Japanese "発信する" in this entry.

Lately I have been baffled by those who use "offer information" in ways which seem to me inappropriate. For example, there was a girl who made fun of some other user on Twitter, saying that the other user is extremely ugly. But when she was persucuted with questions such as "who do you think you are to deride other people as homely?" she retorted that she was just offering information, not making fun of other people.

Incidents like these convinced me that the phrase offering information can often be used to make it seem valuable when all you can do is to offer nonsense. As for me, I am not offering any information. I am just offering absurdities.
