Next semester, I will be a teaching assistant of courses for freshmen and sophomores. These classes are about philosophy, so I expect them to be informative for me as well as for the students. I was a little concerned whether I can handle the job, for I am not so familiar with philosophy but, seeing that other graduate students have taken it on, I am not so worried about it now.
But one thing still worries me. One of the class begins at 8:30. To be present at the class, I have to get up 7:00 at the latest. I am wondering when is the last time that I got up that early, but I don't seem to remember it. It was forever ago. I think it necessary to be an early riser. According to a book, it is helpful to go to bed 30 minutes earlier week by week. So, if I go to bed at 1:00 a.m. this week, it follows that the next week, I will go to bed 0:30, and the following week, I will go to be at 0:00. This will help you get up earlier and earlier gradually, the book said. I don't know whether this will work. But at least I can try.
