23/10/2017 Cross my heart and hope to die

There are some English expressions the pronunciation of which I love, but the meaning of which I don't know. For example, the idiom "cross my heart and hope to die" is one of them. This idiosyncratic preference for pronunciation may be one of those things which help me keep on studying English.

英語の表現で、意味を知らないけれども、なんだか音の響きが好きなものがある。たとえば、cross my heart and hope to dieはその一つだ。こんな風に音だけでも楽しめてしまうから、英語の勉強が続いているのだと思う。
